Attributes are not defined in the standard, as they vary between different software products. Those stakeholders' needs (functionality, performance, security, maintainability, etc.) are precisely what is represented in the quality model, which categorizes the product quality into characteristics and sub-characteristics. Software Quality Attributes (aka non-functional requirements) help software architects to evaluate the performance of a software application. These quality attributes decide whether the software is of good quality or not.

Functional requirements deal with a particular aspect of a system's Quality Attributes by Karl Wiegers for Enfocus Solutionswww.EnfocusSolutions.com Up till now, we have been talking about quality in an informal way. However, if you want to build systems that support the required qualities you will need a way to express those quality attributes and understand how you can achieve them. After this module you should be able to formulate your own quality requirements.

Before we move on, let me first clarify what non-functional requirements and quality attributes are. Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs) are the benchmarks around which most quality-by-design implementations revolve. CQAs are part of the systematic approach to development that begins with predefined objectives and emphasizes product and process understanding and process control, based on sound science and quality risk management (ICH Q8 R2). The quality attributes (as mentioned above) are level 1 in this tree. The next level refines the attributes into sub-categories for example the Performance quality attribute can be refined to Latency, Throughput, Deadline, Data loss, Jitter or Miss rate. 2020-05-15 · Data quality is crucial – it assesses whether information can serve its purpose in a particular context (such as data analysis, for example).
